Platform Trainers

So this is my first fashion article. Much less profound, political and spiritual as my other posts. This is shall we say a more shallow post, so lets just make it a short one!

I used to think platform trainers were really gawdy and gross. The ones I had seen before were all pretty chunky and distasteful like so: http://images.luuux.com/000102F16B69675F0F9EB3EE109C7B5B/original/TrainerShoes.JPG

I know we all think shes super annoying because still a role model to children and she sings explicitly about drugs and whoring around… (And yeah I know its her act….we all do)

But I really Cyrus’s  fashion sense in this video. THE SHOES IN PARTICULAR. I want them….

And today Kat Von D someone who I am much less embarrassed to openly admire her style posted these beautiful things today on her facebook/instagram.  https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10153649_10154928849105454_3988783930072606378_n.jpg?oh=bbaa0973a13c03a0a14d424d5fbe5f98&oe=551A02AD

They’re nice but more classy than the ones Cryrus’ is wearing. You could definitely wear them to a formal occasion if you wore the right outfit.

I searched on Ebay to find myself a pair and it proved very difficult they are YRU shoes. They don’t seem to have any in my size im a 3. If your feet aren’t as dainty as mine you might be able to find some at a good reasonable price.

The Disposal of Horses – Another example of our disrespect on this planet.

It upsets me that as a species we have a total lack of respect for nature. – When Horses become unfit for our superficial  use we disgard them….They are beautiful, intelligent creatures.

I had  a revelation while watching a medi-eveil  battle film. – Horses have no idea that they are in a film. They are forced to charge at other horses and are expected to fall over. They must be so traumatised. I know that these horses will be trained to fall over by cognitive behavioural techniques – Ie they are rewarded for good behaviour (in this case the stunts for a film). It still must be pretty traumatising for the horse.

Horses owned by the police as a form of riot control also experience trauma…only this is worse because although it makes no difference to the horse if its in a film or in an actual dangerous situation. We as people know that we are putting these horses in a dangerous situation. Its not fair that they should be involved in the quarrelling of humans.

These horses then either get re-homed to a centre where they are given therapy…or they are put down because they are unsuitable to re-home.  Horses are incredibly sensitive creatures, they can show signs of stress and trauma through emotional triggers.

I find it brutal and disgusting that race horses are put down when they are old, there might not be anything particularly wrong with the horse but they deemed unsuitable for the track. Even carriage horses after a while are taken away not because they are too old but because they need to look pristine especially if they are for the Queen of England. We want horses in their prime and when they are unfit we abandon them.

Although this example is pretty old in the 1981 film Anna Karenina a horse was tripped with a wire, which is very cruel. Nowadays if a horse is expected to fall whilst running, a hole will be dug in the earth and there will be a soft cushioning under the top layer of earth so that the horse won’t be harmed. Although this is safer I still don’t feel its humane.

More recently in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the rings trilogy Viggo Mortensson who played Aragon, spent a lot of time behind the scenes with his two horses and formed a close bonds. It is noted that he was very dedicated to his role in lord of the rings, he slept in a tent in the wild and hunted his own food. He did lots of research for his role! After the films were wrapped he bought both of them, he loved them so much! Apparently non of the horses in Lord of the rings were harmed. For large battle scenes the horses were CGI.

This evening I was watching Dawn of the planets of the apes in which the apes, and horses featured with in this film are CGI. Normally when I watch a film with CGI I discredit it because I have always thought from an aesthetic point of view it looks ridiculous and film producers could spend less money by hiring real animals than spending the money on CGI software. But after my horsey epiphany I’m quiet glad of it. Especially in a film that is as violent as this.

Although I have mentioned some examples here where the actors have been dedicated enough to their horses to buy them (out of love and concern for their welfare.) And other films avoid traumatising real horses by using CGI. Not every filmmaker will have these ideas and not every actor will make a bond with their horse and keep it afterwards. Most of the time we dispose of them when they are no longer of any use to us. This kills me. It is disrespectful…there are some things that make me very ashamed to be human.

We are greedy, we use and we take until their is nothing left. We panic and then think of more ways to be greedy and take more. We have no respect. We harm animals who are so much closer to nature, sensitive beautiful animals. When really….we are the animals.

We are barbaric.

Why are Tattoos so Addictive?

It has been a year since my first tattoo, and since then I have acquired there more. Above is my latest addition a Phoenix. I’m very proud of my tattoos, they all mean something important to me, And lets face it I also just like to flaunt them.

I can admit to myself that this means that I am a little vain. I like to be admired and I’m glad that mine are good quality by professional artists. Am I addicted to getting them? Well I think about the ones I am getting next quiet a lot. I wondered if it is BECAUSE I am vain that I like tattoos and want more. I then made my ponder more general. Are all those who get tattoos vain? Surely not… I happen to like people noticing them and I love to look at them but surely not everyone with tattoos is like that, thats a massive generalisation.

I do think that like many people I like having and planning my own tattoos in order to feel in control. This is something you can choose and you have power over. For some people who have not always been happy with their bodies, choosing and designing art for it can be so liberating.

I don’t enjoy tattoos from a sadistic point of view, I don’t enjoy the pain I sit through it with the knowledge that I will have something I think is beautiful and meaningful on my body for the rest of my life. Others enjoy the sensation of endorphins being produced during the procedure. Its  a natural pain killer. However I have learned after my 4th tattoo that I am better suited to numbing cream. I have highly sensitive skin.

I think that if your going to get a tattoo for your first few you should do it without numbing cream so you fully understand what you are doing to your body.

I always research the artist before I get tattooed, look at their portoilos so I know I can trust their skill.

Some of my tattoos are messages for myself. For example “Child of the Universe” written on my for arm is there to remind me to love myself. It is from a poem by Maxx Erhman.

The pheonix for me represents reincarnation which is something I believe in. But more importantly it represents strength and power – Resilience. I am able to overcome anything life may throw at me.

Well for me I certainly feel that tattoos are addictive because I feel in control, I can have things on my body both to flaunt and to hold a deeper meaning. I’m not certain if this is everyones reasoning behind it, but I feel there must be some truth in this for many

Native American Truth

I have been thinking about a lot of awful things in the world recently.

For example how Coca-cola factories in India pollute their rivers with toxic waste, and so many people die from it. – But they don’t care, because like many corporate companies all they care about is money. They have no morals because they are consumed by their greed.

I was browsing through tumblr as I often do. As a spiritual person,  Native American culture has always spoken to me. Their ideologies are so innocent and peaceful. They worship the land because they recognise that this is where everything starts, and that it is our home and it must be respected. I came across this meme, and I think its very astute. Applicable to all the things I have been thinking over recently. For example how Nestle want to own natural water supplies so nobody else can claim them. Nestle denies that water is a basic human right.

I also watched a documentary film about how 9/11 was orchestrated by the  US government. How builders had come in the week before the plain crash to do some “repairs” and what they were really doing was checking to make sure the bombs would go off securely. This really does make me wonder. Who are these sick people who are aiding the death of thousands of innocent people. How do they sleep at night. – They were probably paid so much to do it and keep quiet about it they are all probably in their island beach homes now snorting cocaine off an escorts arse cheek. Not a care in the world

It makes me sick to my stomach. When us Europeans went to America, murdered and raped all the indigenous people with no respect or regard for their culture. We then showed them how we think civilised people should live. We looked down on them because we thought that they were uneducated, but they understood far more then the greed within our hearts could ever comprehend.

I feel that I live in a world where not many people care or understand about nature, or the impact that we have on this earth and other people on it. I think that we have a lot to learn from Native American culture
